It’s been a big week for our site team this week. The dozer has prepared a good amount of drill pads for grade definition drilling and cleaned up the access roads, the drill has moved to the first plateau and servicing is complete ready to fire up today or tomorrow. The team are also well progressed on a series of dispersed bulk sample pits to support offtake with the aim to prepare samples that closely represent the blended product we designed in the PFS.

The environmental delegation completed their inspection and were very pleased with our programmes and management plans. Earlier in the year we prepared our Summary ESIA which is essentially the back bone of the HSE management system to support exploration and supporting activities in the pre-construction phase.

On the back of this we submitted our forward work plan which outlined our implementation plan of this system. We also recently appointed one of our up-and-coming geologists Mohammed, with a penchant for HSE matters, as the HSE lead on site and he has made great progress in supporting the sustainable implementation of our safety and environmental systems and in particular applying them to the programmes underway.

The delegation were very impressed and advised on minor improvements to fire extinguisher management and placement, and waste and recycling management so a great result from the team at Bobodji for maintaining such high standards and making sure the Summary ESIA is not just a theoretical document but supports actual practical applications.
